TOUR 2 Paddling on ‘Heaven’s Water’

Paddling on ‘Heaven’s Water’: From the Castle wall of Tiberias city to Jordan River and John the Baptist site.

The guides will give a short orientation talk on the Sea of Galilee as well as instructions on paddling and safety precautions.

Upon entering the water we will paddle about 2 Km in order to get acquainted with our kayak. Our first stop will be at the hot springs in Tiberias to see some of the most astounding ancient mosaics in the Middle East.

We continue our paddling with a 6 Km trip around the southern part of the lake to the point where the Jordan River exits the Sea of Galilee and winds its way southwards towards the Dead Sea.

Helped by the Special waterproof Bird guide we would define 5-8 Herons species and 3 kinds of Kingfishers nesting and  inhabiting the lakefront of the lake in this region.  We will also make a short journey on the Lower Jordan River itself. Leaving the kayaks at the mouth of the Jordan River, we will pay a visit to the world famous baptismal site where John the Baptist baptised Christ.

One of the holy sites of Christianity, here one feels the presence of God in the surrounding landscape.
